MSU joins the common application

STARKVILLE, Mississippi – Starting September 1, undergraduate students applying to Mississippi State University will have the opportunity to do so through The Common Application, a powerful online college application platform that serves and supports over three million applicants, teachers and counselors across the United States. United States and around the world every year.

By becoming a member of the Common Application, MSU will make itself known to students who might not have otherwise considered the institution while making the application process, including fee waiver, more efficient. One-third of the more than one million Common Application applicants are the first in their family to graduate from college.

“As a land granting institution, Mississippi State University is committed to providing affordable and accessible higher education to all students. Joining the Common App allows us to make our process as easy and manageable as possible for all prospective students to make it easier for us, ”said MSU’s Assistant Vice President for Enrollment John Dickerson.

In addition to providing a single online app and 24/7/365 support for all students applying to member colleges and universities, the Common App connects applicants to financial aid and scholarship tools, digital wallets, virtual mentors, a virtual advisor, and a resource library for counselors, advisers, and referrals working with students to complete their college admissions applications. This also includes translations into Spanish.

Thanks to our members, all students, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to easily apply to college or university that will help them achieve their best future.

Students can create a Common App account now, as their account will be renewed from year to year. Starting this year, Common App members will also begin using the new Common App for Transfer, a separate app designed exclusively to meet the needs of mature student and transfer populations.
